Biography: Senator Terri Bryant was elected to the Illinois House of Representatives in 2014, and was then elected to the Illinois Senate in 2020. Senator Bryant now represents the 58th Senate District which includes all or parts of Jefferson, Perry, Randolph, St. Clair, Monroe, Jackson, Union, and Washington counties. Senator Bryant's commitment to public service began in 1994 at the Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC). After 20 years of service, she retired from the IDOC in 2014. Throughout the years, Senator Bryant remained dedicated to political pursuits, including serving as a Precinct Committee Woman, Vice-President of the Jackson County Republican Women's Club and as Second Vice-Chair of the Jackson County Republican Central Committee. Since taking office, Senator Bryant has taken on new responsibilities in the Senate including serving as the Minority Spokesperson for the Behavioral and Mental Health Committee and participating in the Higher Education Working Group. She was also a delegate to the Illinois Republican Conventions in 2008 and again in 2012. Senator Bryant balances her duties as a State Senator with her responsibilities in the private sector. Bryant has experience in the farming industry and in the service industry, including owning the successful Bluebell Restaurant in Murphysboro, Illinois. JasonPlummerState Senator | 54th
Senator Plummer and his family live in Edwardsville where he serves as vice president of R.P. Lumber, a family owned and operated business with dozens of locations throughout Illinois, Missouri, Iowa and Wyoming. Sen. Plummer is also active in other businesses spanning multiple industries, including real estate, hospitality, technology, and agriculture. He also enjoys participating in numerous civic organizations and non-profits. Sen. Plummer is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and first answered the call to serve as an intelligence officer in the U.S. Navy Reserve. Senator Plummer joined the ranks of Republican lawmakers in 2019, having been elected to serve as the state Senator for the 54th Senate District. The 54th State Senate District encompasses all or portions of Bond, Clinton, Effingham, Fayette, Madison, Marion, St. Clair, and Washington Counties. It stretches from Edwardsville to Effingham, covering suburbs of St. Louis and historic rural communities, including Vandalia, Illinois’ previous capitol city. The 54th District is home to over 200,000 people. Senator Plummer was recently named as Assistant Republican Leader in the Senate Republican Leadership Team for the 102nd General Assembly. He also serves as the Minority Spokesperson for the Senate Financial Institutions Committee as well the Minority Spokesperson for the Executive Appointments Committee. Biography: Born and raised in Southern Illinois; graduate of Chester High School; Enlisted in Air Force, later joining the reserves, participated during Desert Storm; worked for Delta Airlines; earned B.S. in Criminal Justice from Mercer University with honors; earned Juris Doctorate from John Marshall Law School; Married to his wife of 32 years, has two children. Charlie E. Meier serves as the State Representative in the 108th House District. Prior, Charlie served six years on the Washington County Board, and was assigned to the Legislative, Sheriff, Highway, Assessment, and Animal Control Committees. 520-9404
